1st Year
(Fall Semester)
 
REH101 INTENSIVE ENGLISH I (16 ECTS): At the end of the term students are expected to use four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) actively at the elementary level which are accepted as fundamental for language training and to improve vocabulary that can be an infrastructure for the next level.
 
REH103 INTRODUCTION TO TOURISM (ECTS- 2): This lesson, together with the conceptual explanations of issues that are related to tourism, covers the overall assessment of world and turkey’s tourism and the assessment of past and future of tourism. Main topics of the lesson are: general concepts that are related to tourism; system of tourism; development of tourism in the world and Turkey; types of tourism; tourism demand; supply of tourism; economic impacts of tourism; socio-cultural impacts of tourism; environmental impacts of tourism; national and international tourism organizations; prudential tends in tourism.
 
REH105 TURKISH LANGUAGE I (ECTS- 2): The main aim of this lesson is to give basic information about Turkish, to gain necessary skills to use language effectively and correctly in oral and written expression and to do necessary practice. Moreover in this lesson we aim to teach spelling rules, adjectives and pronouns, sentence structure, elements of sentence, writing articles and reports, writing essays.
 
REH107 ATATÜRK'S PRINCIPLES AND HISTORY OF TURKISH REVOLUTION I (ECTS- 2): Topics on Ottoman Empire: disintegration of the empire and effort to extricate the State; Hatt-i Sharif (the rescript of Gülhane) and following developments; I. Constitutionalism; world war I and armistice period; occupation of Ottoman Territory following the Mondros armistice and handled activities against the occupation; Ataturk and national movement (arrival to Samsun, Amasya circular, Erzurum and Sivas congresses, National Oath (Misak-ı Milli) decisions); opening of Grand National Assembly of Turkey and civil rebellions; Independence War; I and II Inonu Battles; Battle of Sakarya; Mudanya Armistice; Lausanne Conference and Treaty.
 
REH109 INTRODUCTION TO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY I (ECTS- 3): The main aim of this lesson is to introduce and make students use the basic functions of computer, hardware and having given programs the recent version of Microsoft operating system.
 
REH111TURKISH CULTURE AND ART IN PRE-ANATOLIAN PERIOD (ECTS- 2): The historical and geographical dimension of Central Asia and its surroundings where Turks were first seen in history, archaeological researches and findings in the region, pre-cultures (Anav, Karsuk etc.), the place of Kurgans (graves) in pre-Islamic Turkish art, outlines of Hun history, Hun architecture, Central Asian animal style, the spread of Hun art in the West, Scythian period, its archeology and findings are studied within the perspective of art history. Art pieces and structures of Hun, Gokturk and Uygur periods are also covered in the course.
 
REH113 TOURIST GUIDING I (ECTS- 3): The role of the guide in the tourism industry, the history of tourist guiding and tour management, types of tourist guides and other staff involved in tours, package tours and their characteristics, tour and group types, relationship with tourists and management of group behavior, relations with service suppliers, pre-tour research and planning, welcoming the tourist group, transferring and contact meeting, presenting information to tourist, interpretation and effective promotion of a place, ethical, social, legal, and economical aspects of guiding, professional resources and associations form the content of the course.

REH102 INTENSIVE ENGLISH II (ECTS- 16): At the end of the term students are expected to use four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) actively at the pre- intermediate level which are accepted as fundamental for language training and to improve vocabulary that can be an infrastructure for the next level.
 
REH104 TOURISM GEOGRAPHY OF TURKEY (ECTS- 2): Relationship between geography and tourism; basic concepts related to tourism geography; geographical distribution of tourism demand; geographical distribution of tourism supply; international tourism and international tourist flow; tourism in Turkey and domestic tourist flow; geographical distribution of tourism resources in Turkey (Marmara, Aegean, Central Anatolia, Eastern Anatolia, Southeastern Anatolia, Black Sea) form the content of the course.
 
REH106 TURKISH LANGUAGE II (ECTS- 2): Turkish language and its place among world languages; relationship between language and culture; development of Turkish language; characteristics of sounds in Turkish.
 
REH108 ATATÜRK'S PRINCIPLES AND HISTORY OF TURKISH REVOLUTION II (ECTS- 2): Declaration of Turkish Republic and subsequent developments; principles of Ataturk; Ataturk and reform; Foreign policy of Turkey after 1940 are the subjects of the course.
 
REH110 INTRODUCTION TO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY II (ECTS- 3): In this lesson we aim to introduce and make students use office applications. MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Applications are made to use internet and network.
 
REH112 ANATOLIAN CIVILIZATIONS I (ECTS- 2): Chronologically, Paleolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic, Chalcolithic, Bronze and Iron Age cultures and technological development, settlements, architectural remains and small artifacts during these periods are the subjects to be examined.
 
REH114 TOURIST GUIDING II (ECTS- 3): The aim of the course is to examine the tourist guidance terminology, terminology related to service suppliers, the role and duties of the guide in different types of tours, the role and duties of the guide in different types of groups, group psychology and tourist groups, tourist typologies and tourist guiding, complaint management in tourist guidance, promotion and marketing of the service of the freelance tourist guide, specialization areas and expertise in tourist guidance, use of technology in tourist guidance, professional ethics in tourist guidance, legislation in tourist guidance, the future of tourist guidance and new trends.
 
2nd Year
(Fall Semester)
 
REH201 ENGLISH I (ECTS- 12):  At the end of the term students are expected to use four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) actively at the intermediate level which are accepted as fundamental for language training and to improve vocabulary and grammar that can be an infrastructure for the next level.
 
REH203 ARCHAEOLOGY I (ECTS- 3): In order to perceive the archaeological process that started with the humanity's first tool, concepts such as time and chronology, the emergence of archeology, archaeological materials and their evaluation, antique age, ancient cities constitute the content of the course.
 
REH205 MUSEUMS IN TURKEY (ECTS- 3): Starting with the history of museums, historical development and roles of museums in history of republic of Turkey constitute the content of the course.
 
REH207 TURKISH CULTURE AND ART IN ANATOLIA (ECTS- 3): The content of the course includes the definition of art, the types of art and the basic concepts of art history, the periodic features of the development of art from prehistoric times to the present, especially the characteristics of art works and art movements according to the periods in Anatolian geography.
 
REH209 INTRODUCTION TO MANAGEMENT (ECTS- 2): human needs and economic activities, relation among need, economy and production, the emergence and historical development of management, the relationship of management with other disciplines, the management environment, the nature of the management, the purpose system of the management, basic concepts in management, sales income, cost concept, profit concept, productivity, the concept of economy and profitability, the classification of businesses, the phenomenon of growth in businesses, the establishment of the business are discussed in this course.
 
 REH211 ANATOLIAN CIVILIZATIONS II (ECTS- 2): The course examines Anatolian civilizations especially through archaeological data. Meanwhile, it makes use of historical evidence. The course is taught by explaining and comparing cultural assets, works of art, and architectural elements. One of the aims of this course is to show the importance and active role of art in the life of human beings and the civilizations they created. Starting from the prehistoric times, the Paleolithic period, the stages of human beings in the history of civilization and the cultures of these civilizations are introduced through works of art. From the works of the civilizations that left their mark on these periods, the cultures they belong to are tried to be defined and understood. The role and importance of art in understanding and evaluating cultural history is also revealed.
 
REH213 ELECTIVE COURSE I (ECTS-2):
 
REH213.1-TURKISH CIVIL ARCHITECTURE: Definition and development of home and human, architectural reflections, first house samples and sources, room in a Turkish house, decoration in a Turkish house, and facade in a Turkish house constitute the content of the course.
 
REH213.2 – INFLUENTIAL CHARACTERS IN HISTORY: The course covers important artists, philosophers, commanders, architects, ministers, physicians, geographers, poets, travelers and the socio-cultural conditions of the period in which they lived and the cultural heritage they left behind.
 
REH213.3 – STATISTICS: Basic concepts and terms related to statistics; probability; universe; (population and sampling), hypothesis tests; frequency calculation; chi-square-test; measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode); measures of distribution; variance and standard deviation;  calculation of standard value (Z-value calculation); t- tests; F- tests (Anova); correlation; regression; index are aimed to be taught.
 
REH213.4- WORLD GEOGRAPHY AND TOURISM DESTINATIONS: Continents (Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia, North and South America and Antarctica), countries selected from the continents, Balkan countries, Caucasus and Middle East countries and Central Asian countries are discussed in terms of touristic values in this course.
 
REH213.5 – TOURISM POLICY AND PLANNING: The historical development of policy and planning concepts, tourism policy and planning concepts, sustainable tourism development and planning, sustainable tourism-related planning techniques, qualifications of public and private sector tourism policy, planning varieties, examples of tourism development policies and planning, the developed countries of the European Union and the comparison of tourism policies and plans, place and importance of tourism policy and planning in regional development policy, tourism policy and planning, its historical development and the problems encountered in Turkey, tourism policies, the role of Ministry of Culture and Tourism and  other institutions and organizations in tourism policy and planning, Tourism 2023 strategy, case study.
 
REH213.6 –DESTINATION MANAGEMENT: Definition and characteristics of destination, destination development and planning, destination management organizations, total quality management in destinations, destination management and benchmarking, destination marketing, product development in destinations, destination brand management.
 
REH213.7– INTRODUCTION TO ACCOUNTING: Topics such as; Basic accounting information, basic accounting concepts and hypotheses, balance sheet of accounting, income statement, amortization, recording tools in accounting, recording transactions and methods in accounting, uniform accounting plan, balance, post-closing trial balance, balance sheet form the content of the course.
 
REH213.8– EVENT MANAGEMENT: Concepts, scope and features of event, event tourism, management and coordination of events, event marketing, brand and brand communication concepts, market analysis, segmentation, positioning, brand identity and personality, brand architecture, brand communication and efficiency in tourism sector, case study.
 
REH215 – ELECTIVE COURSE II (ECTS 3):
 
REH215.1 – INTRODUCTION TO HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY: This course covers international hotel chains and other accommodation/lodging establishments, organizational structures of these operations in detail. The important aspects such as a brief history of lodging industry, size and scope of the accommodation sector and hospitality industry, factors influencing hotel development, hotel classifications, hotel investments and financing, independent and chain hotel operations are reviewed.
 
REH215.2 – FRONT OFFICE MANAGEMENT: The role and importance of the front office department in the hospitality industry, the duties, organization chart and subdivisions of  front office department, duties of front office subdivisions, front office personnel and their duties, organizational communication in the front office, internal communication in the front office department, and communication with management, communication with subdivisions in the front office, communication with other departments in the front office, communication with sales and marketing department, reports and forms ensuring coordination and communication between the front office and the housekeeping, the technical services and the security department, reports and forms ensuring coordination and communication between the front office department and the accounting and the food and beverage department, guest types and communication with guests in the front office, communication with guests in the front office and communication problems at the front office.
 
REH215.3 – EVENT MANAGEMENT: Concepts, scope and features of event, event tourism, management and coordination of events, event marketing, brand and brand communication concepts, market analysis, segmentation, positioning, brand identity and personality, brand architecture, brand communication and efficiency in tourism sector, case study.
 
REH215.4 – WINTER AND MOUNTAIN TOURISM: This course covers the terms, features, types, and significant examples of winter and mountain tourism.
 
REH215.5 – NEW APPROACHES IN MARKETING: Introduction and development of marketing, factors leading to change, globalism, classical marketing, technological change, consumer trends, marketing mix, marketing strategies, basic approaches in marketing, technology and internet.
 
2nd Year
(Spring Semester)
 
REH202 ENGLISH II (ECTS 12): At the end of the term students are expected to use four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) actively at the intermediate level which are accepted as fundamental for language training and to improve vocabulary and grammar that can be an infrastructure for the next level.
 
REH204 ARCHAEOLOGY II (ECTS 3): The aim of the course is to enable students to learn architectural elements that can be seen in ancient cities and the place of those elements in social life in the light of archaeological concepts and theories.
 
REH206 ART HISTORY I (ECTS 3): In this course, the phases of art history, which has become independent from archaeology since the 19th century, and the relationship between art history and other branches of science are examined. Terms related to architecture, painting, sculpture, handicrafts and other subjects used in art history are taught through samples.
 
REH208 GREEK AND ROMAN MYTHOLOGY (ECTS 2): Along with giving necessary information about the gods and heroes of Greek and Roman Mythology, these cultures are compared with different cultures.
 
REH210 TRAVEL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (ECTS 3): The definition, characteristics and organization structures of travel agents and tour operators, organization and qualifications of package tours, beside their importance, historical development, classification, distribution channel types, organizational chart of travel agencies and travel agencies in Turkey and TÜRSAB No. 1618 Travel Agency Law constitute the content of this course.
 
REH212 AUTOMATION SYSTEMS IN TRAVEL BUSINESSES (ECTS 3): Introducing the automation systems for ticketing and booking that can be used by students constitute the content of the course.
 
REH214 – ELECTIVE COURSE (ECTS 2):
 
REH214.1 INTRODUCTION TO ECONOMICS: Basic concepts of economics, the distinction between macroeconomics and microeconomics, the relations of economics with other disciplines, the actors of the economy, the basic economic questions, the development of the market economy, the perfect competition market, economic trends: Classics, Keynesians, Monetarists, Supply Side Economists, Constitutional Economists etc., market failures, monopoly and oligopoly market structures, the reasons for the state's intervention in the market and the problems caused by state intervention, regulatory policies, national and international economic institutions and their main functions: World Bank, IMF, WTO, ECB, FED, CBRT, Ministry of Treasury and Finance, etc., production possibilities curve, price mechanism: price formation in demand, supply and market, elasticity, price elasticity of demand and supply, the theory of consumer behaviour, production and costs, overview of macroeconomic, national income, GDP, HDP, purchasing power parity, income per capita, the determination of income and price level, Total Demand (AD) Total Supply (AS) model, basic Macroeconomic problems, growth, inflation, unemployment problem, types of unemployment, balance of payments, current account deficit, fiscal policy and public budget, monetary policy and banking, income distribution policies, social state and its applications are outlined in the course.
 
REH214.2 INTERNATIONAL HOTEL MANAGEMENT: Along with the classification and characteristics of hotel businesses, establishment location in hotel businesses, human resources management in hotel businesses, marketing in hotel businesses, accounting, purchasing, front office services, housekeeping, food and beverage services, food and beverage cost control and revenue management in hotel businesses, new trends in this area constitute the content of the course.
 
REH214.3 GASTRONOMY: Gastronomy and related concepts, scientific and artistic dimensions of gastronomy, gastronomy as a touristic product and attractiveness, gastronomy in hospitality industry, development of gastronomy tourism, development of eating habits and traditions, basic principles of nutrition, food and drink types and components, food and beverage preparation techniques, food storage and protection, preventing food poisoning, hygiene and sanitation, food safety systems: HACCP, overall assessment of the European gastronomy are among the topics of the course.
 
REH214.4 SUSTAINABLE TOURISM: Students recognize the problems in environmental issues, grasp the importance of the environment in terms of sustainable tourism and gain environmental awareness. The theoretical data are reinforced by the researches of the students. The importance of the environment, the role of the environment in the development of tourism, sustainable tourism approaches in tourism enterprises are covered in the course.
 
REH214.5 DRAMA: Communication, trust studies and group dynamics, role playing and improvisation, components of dramatic fiction, creative drama techniques, creative drama in the learning and teaching process, game knowledge and theory, written arts and creative drama, dance movements and music and creative drama, sample work on the relationship between creative drama and physical education lesson and also student practices constitute the content of the course.
 
REH214.6 FLORA AND FAUNA OF TURKEY: An overview of bio-diversity in Turkey, the causes of the richness and diversity of the flora of Turkey, history of botanical research in Turkey, the general climate types in Turkey, Turkey's botanical geographical regions and their features, Turkey animal species found in bio-diversity, to show significant faunal areas, explaining the similarities and differences with neighbouring countries’ faunas are the topics of the course.
 
REH214.7 TOUR PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT: The content of the course includes the implementation and management of ingoing, incoming and outgoing tours, which constitute the basic function of tourism, starting from the planning stage, giving the method of cost calculation, and providing students with the necessary knowledge and skills on the subject.
 
REH216 – ELECTIVE COURSE IV (ECTS 2):
 
REH216.1 – TRAVEL MANAGEMENT: Industrial tourism and travel, service industries and tourism, a main product of tourism industry: inclusive tour, production and distribution network of tourism industry, travel sector of industrıal tourism, operations of tour operators, operations of travel agencies, programming and purchasing, info-communication systems in travel companies.
 
REH216.2 – WORLD GEOGRAPHY AND TOURISM DESTINATIONS: Geography and tourism, impacts of geography on tourism, tourism and climate; tourism based on quantic resources, tourism based on landscape and natural life resources, using historical resources on tourism, urban tourism, cruise tourism, cultural tourism, tourism transportation and tourism geography, development of tourism and tourism transportation, efficient factors of international tourism movements and their spatial distribution, main cultural environment characteristics that are important for tourism, cultural substances which are included or planned for the List of World Heritage.
 
REH216.3 – MYTHOLOGY: The definition of mythology, comparison will be made between Turkey and its neighbours according to the mythological perspective.
 
REH216.4 – GASTRONOMY: Gastronomy and related concepts, scientific and artistic dimensions of gastronomy, gastronomy as a touristic product and attractiveness, gastronomy in hospitality industry, development of gastronomy tourism, development of eating habits and traditions, basic principles of nutrition, food and drink types and components, food and beverage preparation techniques, food storage and protection, preventing food poisoning, hygiene and sanitation, food safety systems: HACCP, overall assessment of the European gastronomy.
 
3rd Year
(Fall Semester)
 
REH301 ENGLISH III (ECTS 8): Advanced grammar rules in English; vocabulary exercises (especially on tour guiding) and reading passages, and also as a case study preparing a tour which includes Hagia Sophia Mosque, Topkapı Palace Museum, Sultanahmet Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Golden Horn and Bosporus constitute the content of the course.
 
REH303 ARCHAEOLOGY III (ECTS 3): The course includes the Iron Age in Anatolia, architecture, ceramics and sculpture in the ancient Roman art, the introduction of major ancient cities and the social life of the Ancient Age.
 
REH305 ART HISTORY II (ECTS 3): By explaining the arts of the states that were formed in Anatolia, influenced Turkish art and existed outside Anatolia, it is aimed to teach the characteristics of art of Anatolian Seljuk state. The artistic characteristics of the Anatolian Seljuk state are discussed in detail.
 
REH307 TURKISH AND ANATOLIAN MYTHOLOGY (ECTS 3): The main images seen in Turkish mythology are explained by considering legends, epics and inscriptions. The main topics of Turkish mythology, cosmology and symbols and images are discussed. The gods of civilizations, their relations with each other and also with people, the legends and stories that have survived until today about them are examined.
 
REH309 RESEARCH METHODS AND TECHNIQUES IN SOCIAL SCIENCES (ECTS 2): The concept of scientific research and its features, basic concepts related to scientific research, scientific research process, data collection methods, scale types, sampling and sampling methods, data analysis techniques, SPSS program and SPSS applications, ethics in the scientific research process constitute the content of the course.
 
REH311 – ELECTIVE COURSE V (ECTS 2):
 
REH311.1 TURKISH AND WORLD CUISINE: The cultural and historical development of the Turkish cuisine, national and regional food and drinks specific to Turkish cuisine, preparation-cooking methods, processing-storage methods and tools used regional recognition of cuisine, researching the cultural aspect of world and Turkish cuisine.
 
REH311.2 PUBLIC RELATIONS: The content of the course includes the scope of public relations activities in tourism enterprises, the organizational structure of the public relations department and its place in the business, the ability to use written, verbal, visual and audio tools in public relations activities, and planning and conducting public relations activities.
 
REH311.3 CONSUMER BEHAVIOUR IN TOURISM: Demographic and economic characteristics of consumer markets, factors affecting consumer behaviour, consumer purchasing behaviour and decision process issues, environmental effects.
 
REH311.4 ANIMATION AND ANATOLIAN FOLK CULTURE: General information about folklore, branches of science related to folklore, history and development of folklore, tools and methods used in folklore research, traditions, customs and beliefs, handicrafts, folk literature, folk dance, folk music, folk theatre, children's games in folklore, relationship between folklore and tourism constitutes the content of this course.
 
REH311.5 INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION: Effective communication (interpersonal communication), self-recognition, listening, persuasion, İnterference between people, detection, asking questions in communication, group communication function, in-group and out-group conflict cases, organizational communication, includes communication obstacles issues, cases.
 
REH311.6 SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY: Generally, the concept of behaviour, perception, personality, ego, culture, attitude, impressive communication, social impact, group, leadership are the titles covered in this course.
 
REH313 – ELECTIVE COURSE VI (ECTS 3):
 
REH313.1 – TURKISH AND WORLD CUISINE: The cultural and historical development of the Turkish cuisine, national and regional food and drinks specific to Turkish cuisine, preparation-cooking methods, processing-storage methods and tools used regional recognition of cuisine, researching the cultural aspect of world and Turkish cuisine.
 
REH313.2 – RECREATION AND ANIMATION: Concept of recreation and types of recreation, relationship between recreation features, development and tourism, organizations that implement recreation management, animation concept, types and features, effects of animation services on touristic product, functions and cost, the operation and principles of the animation system, management of animation services, organization in animation services, management processes in animation, animation professional standards, applied animation events, traditional culture animation, animation games.
 
REH313.3 – SPECIAL INTEREST TOURISM: Tourism system and special interest tourism place in the system, special interest tourism types, world and Turkey applications, distinction between general interest and special interest, evaluation of special interest tourism with a holistic approach, evaluation of tourism trends in terms of special interest tourism.
 
REH313.4 – CONSUMER BEHAVIOUR IN TOURISM: Demographic and economic characteristics of consumer markets, factors affecting consumer behaviour, consumer purchasing behaviour and decision process issues, environmental effects.
 
REH313.5 – TRAVEL BUSINESS: Basic concepts, business and management functions in the travel businesses, contemporary management approaches.
 
REH313.6 – ADVANCED ENGLISH GRAMMAR: Answering sample YDS questions from mastering KPDS book. Reading passages from Extreme KPDS book. Close tests from Extreme KPDS book. Advanced vocabulary exercises from extreme KPDS book.
 
REH315 SECOND FOREIGN LANGUAGE I (ECTS 6):
 
REH315.1 RUSSIAN I: Basic grammar subjects, vocabulary and professional terminology that will help students to communicate at basic level, developing listening, speaking, writing and comprehension skills at beginner level constitute the content of the course.
 
REH315.2 GERMAN I: Basic grammar subjects, vocabulary and professional terminology that will help students to communicate at basic level, developing listening, speaking, writing and comprehension skills at beginner level constitute the content of the course.
 
3rd Year
(Spring Semester)
 
REH302  ENGLISH IV (ECTS 8): Advanced grammar rules in English; vocabulary exercises (especially on tour guiding) and reading passages, and also some historical places and natural formations such as; Kariye Mosque in Istanbul region, Cappadocia Region's historical-geographical structure, Cappadocia Region architecture, iconography of Christianity period, Bodrum Castle Museum, Lycia Region and some other ruins constitute the content of the course.
 
REH304 HISTORY OF RELIGIONS (ECTS 3): In this course, religions are examined in a historical course, from their emergence and development to subjects such as belief, worship, morality, practice, using history and philology methods, and the different and similar characteristics of religions with other religions are discussed comparatively.
 
REH306 ART HISTORY III (ECTS 3): The introduction of the principalities (Karamanoğulları, Germiyanoğulları, Karesioğulları, Hamitoğulları, Eşrefoğulları, Menteşoğulları, Aydınoğulları, Saruhanoğulları, Candaroğulları (Isfendiyaroğulları) et al.) that shaped the period of Anatolian principalities, and also the architecture of the early Ottoman period and the examples of this period are discussed.

REH310 TRAVEL AGENCIES AND TOUR OPERATORS (ECTS 2): Basic terms and concepts related to tourism, role and ımportance of travel agencies in the tourism industry, preparation and management of package tours, the use of information technologies by travel agencies and tour operators and its impacts, the comparison of travel agencies and tour operation business in the EU countries and Turkey.
 
REH312 ELECTIVE SEMINAR (ECTS 2): First basic resources, course content and seminar topics are explained to the students. The lecturer gives information about the concepts, terms and theories in the related field and the students present the subject they choose and prepare, lecturer makes the comments, make the class discuss the subjects and makes inferences about the presentation at the end of every lesson.

REH316.6 – ADVANCED ENGLISH WRITING: Teach the students how to write four types of essays (example, comparison-contrast, cause- effect, argumentative), the students are also informed about analysing a paragraph, forming a thesis statement and writing an outline, in each class students are supposed to practice the skills they have learnt by writing compositions in class or at home.

REH407 RECREATION (ECTS 2): Basic concepts related to recreation, historical development of recreation, recreation types and features, the relationship between recreation and tourism are covered in the course.
 
REH409 BUSINESS ETHICS IN TOURISM (ECTS 2): Definition of codes of ethics and related concepts, social responsibilities of business, introduction to ethical theories and approaches,  ethical subjects related to business and management,  implementation of traditional ethical theories to modern management decisions, normative and psychological approaches to decision making, ethical decision making process, moral dilemmas in business,  ethical behaviour management, ethics and organizational culture, creating ethical corporate culture, ethical behaviour management in hospitality industry, ethical codes related to tourism, selected topics and case studies on  ethics in tourism management are among the topics of the course.
 
REH411 GRADUATION THESIS I (ECTS 2): Under the supervision of a consultant, students prepare a graduation thesis in one of the subjects related to tourism guidance. The course gives the opportunity to determine the thesis subject, purpose, method, writing rules and so on.
 
REH413 INDUSTRIAL TRAINING I (ECTS 6): Students must complete their workplace trainings (internships) within the framework of the "Faculty Internship Directive" on condition that they have a minimum of 45 working days from the first year. Those who have completed the workplace training are considered successful in this course. Workplace training course is not included in the GPA.

REH404 CIVILIZATION HISTORY (ECTS 2): Etymology of “civilization”, progress differences between civilizations, prehistoric periods, the beginning and spread of food production, the domestication of animals, the effects of the domestication of animals, the reasons for the difference in the spread of civilizations in different continents, the emergence of classes, the different development of civilizations in Eurasia, the emergence of Greek Civilization , the emergence of scientific thought and epilogue are covered in the course.
 
REH406 Tourism Legislation (ECTS- 2): General Principles of Tourism Law, Legal Regulations Related to Tourism in Turkey, Laws and Regulation in Tourism Industry, Travel Agencies, Tour Operators and other Tourism Organizations, National and International Tourism Bodies, Consumer Rights in Tourism, and also the amendment of the Tourism Guidance Professional Law of 2012 constitutes the content of the course.
 
REH408 HEALTH MEASURES AND FIRST AID (ECTS 2): Basic concepts of first aid, CPR (heart and respiratory support) (theory and practice), trauma, haemorrhages (theory and practice), injuries (theory and practice), shock, fractures (theory and practice), sudden illnesses, intoxications, burns, disease prevention methods, infectious diseases, frostbite are the subjects of the course.
 
REH410 CULTURAL PREFERENCES MANAGEMENT (ECTS 2): The geographical location of the countries, important cultural assets, cuisine, art, culture, beliefs and architecture constitute the content of the course.
 
REH412 GRADUATION THESIS II (ECTS 2): Under the supervision of a consultant, students prepare a graduation thesis in one of the subjects related to tourism guidance. The thesis must be prepared within the framework of the Faculty Thesis writing guide.
