General Information
ACADEMIC STAFF
The academic staff of our faculty consists of academicians who;
 
• Adhere to the principles of transparency and diligence,
• Have undertaken it as a mission to create an academic environment for continuous improvement,
• are participative and specialized in their fields and engage in dialogue with the industry.
 
Our faculty’s permanent staff consists of;
• 3 Professors
•  1 Assoc. Prof.
• 4 Associate Professors
• 7 Lecturer
• 4 Research Assistants
In theoretical and practical courses, both academic staff of other academic units and experts in the sector are utilized.

PERIOD OF STUDY
In order to graduate from the faculty, the students of the Department of Tourism Management are required to do an internship of 90 days, and the students of the Department of Tourism Guidance do an internship of 45 days.

DEPARTMENTS  
 
Our faculty has three departments, which are Tourism Management, Tourism Guidance and Gastronomy and Culinary Arts. Tourism Management and Tourism Guidance currently accept students. It is planned to accept students to the department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts in the coming years.

CAMPUS FACILITIES

As the Faculty is located on the main campus of Erciyes University, our students can benefit from social, cultural, and sports facilities offered on campus.

  • Kadir Has Central Library and its collection of books, journals, e-books, and e-theses,
  • International Office and the opportunities provided there such as Socrates/Erasmus Exchange Program, Leonardo Da Vinci Projects,   and Youth Group Activities.
  • Department of Information Technologies and the opportunities provided there such as online catalogues and online database connections.
  • a great variety of social and cultural activities such as trips, music festivals, concerts, exhibitions, theatrical performances, and sports tournaments organized by student clubs, Cultural Centers and various academic departments.
The ones mentioned here constitute a very small part of the facilities of the Central Campus. Students are expected to explore the remaining opportunities.

FACILITIES for PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE
The following facilities are utilized in practical courses,
• the “Mountain House” of the University on Mount Erciyes,
• the “Hızıroğlu Guesthouse” located in the Central Campus and the “Talas Social Facilities” belonging to the University,
• accomodation enterprises and travel agencies in the city center certified by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
HOUSING FACILITIES
Students can stay at dormitories belonging to the Higher Education Credit and Hostels Institution. There are also a number of public accommodation facilities and private dormitories.

ACTIVITIES
 
The activities of our faculty are as follows:
• It is the executive of the project titled, “Contribution of the European Dimension to Sustainable Tourism in the Mediterranean Basin: New Approaches and Expansions”, which was submitted to the National Agency within the scope of Leonardo Da Vinci Mobility Projects.
• It is the co-partner in the project titled, “Contribution of the European Dimension to the Qualifications and Employability of Women in the Tourism Industry”, with Nevşehir University Vocational School, which was presented to the National Agency within the scope of Leonardo Da Vinci Transfer of Innovation Projects.
• The project titled, “Employment of unemployed, unskilled and disadvantaged women in Tourism Sector", which is under preparation, is planned to be submitted to the Central Finance and Contracts Unit within the scope of Active Employment Measures Projects of the Turkish Employment Agency.
• It additionally prepares books and catalogues together with tourism associations and tourism enterprises operating in Kayseri and organizes various "Promotional Activities" and "Scientific Events".

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AFTER GRADUATION
In Turkey, where tourism is a fast-growing sector, there are great opportunities for tourism graduates in the following professions.

    Tourism Management graduates can find employment in;

  • Accommodation establishments,
  • Travel agencies,
  • Food and beverage enterprises,
  • Ministry of Culture and Tourism,
  • Animation and recreation establishments,
  • Self-employment opportunities (Graduates can establish their own businesses as managers of enterprises such as bars and hostels, which do not necessitate a huge capital),
  • Academic institutions.
 
     As for the graduates of Tourism Guidance, job opportunities are as follows:

  • Independent tour guides
  • Tourist guides affiliated to the travel agency,
  • Travel agency managers,
  • Travel agency information officers,

  • •An opportunity for graduate students with master's degrees in Educational Sciences to be vocational course teachers in secondary educational institutions
