A) INTENSIVE ENGLISH 1-2
The First Midterm Exam:
The first midterm exam is held in a written form on the midterm exam dates of the relevant semester. The content of the exam can be in classical and/or multiple-choice form. The exam contains a minimum of 40 points for reading comprehension and a maximum of 60 points for grammar. Students are graded out of 100 full points.
The Second Midterm Exam: The second midterm exam is determined by taking into account the presentations or performance tasks, as well as students’ interest, participation in and attendance to the class and the average of all pop quizzes held during the semester. The second midterm exam results are announced out of 100 full points via the instructor program until the end of the working hours on the last day of the course period at the latest by the relevant lecturer(s).
Final Exam: At the end of the fall and spring semesters, students are given a grammar and/or an essay exam which will be in classical and/or multiple-choice form out of 100 full points on the final exam dates. Before the final exam dates, students take the speaking and listening exams out of 100 full points within the time schedule determined by the Dean’s office. The speaking exam is carried out by a commission consisting of at least two lecturers or by making a process evaluation, students’ in-class speaking performances can be evaluated instead of speaking exam. The arithmetic average of the Writing, Speaking and Listening exam grades is taken and announced out of 100 full points through the instructor program.
The grades of the first, second midterm and final exams held as above are subjected to the absolute grading system as specified in the educational directive of the faculty and the results are announced on the university’s online system.
