Proficiency and Placement Tests

Placement Test

The placement test is held at the beginning of the relevant academic year in order to place the first year students in appropriate classes according to their English language level. The exam is in the form of a multiple-choice test and based on a 100-point scale.

Proficiency Exam

In order for the student to take the next part of the exam, he/she has to get at least 70 points from the previous part. The total score of success is calculated by adding 60% of the score from the first part, 20% of the score from the second and 20% of the score from the third part.

Students with a total score of 75 and above are considered successful and are exempt from all English courses included in the Education Plan of our Faculty and given in the table below:

Students of our faculty who have one of the following scores; 75 points from YDS, 85 from YÖKDİL, 90 points TOEFL IBT; or equivalent points from the exams accepted as equivalent to these exams by OSYM, are exempt from all the English courses included in the Education Plan of our Faculty and given in the table below without the need for a proficiency exam.
