In addition to the theoretical and applied courses, our students have to do industrial training for 6 months (150 weekdays) in order to be eligible for graduation. The foundations they can go for internship are given below:

    • 3, 4 or 5-star hotels, first class holiday villages and first class motels which are issued with a tourism operation license.
    • Travel agencies and tour operators (A and B groups).
    • Airway businesses.
    • Food and beverage businesses that have tourism operation licenses.
    • Education and recreation facilities within the public corporations can be accepted with the approval of the College Board.

Besides those domestic businesses that we mentioned above, our students can also go abroad to foreign organizations that are similar in nature for their internship.

Given the context of our educational plan, The School of Tourism and Hotel Management aims to educate and train mid-level and senior manager candidates who have necessary and adequate “abilities”, “proficiencies” and “competence” to work in tourism sector and related tourism establishments.

Examination and Assessment Regulations

Attendance to classes: It is compulsory to attend at least 80% of the classes in all of the degree programs.

Exams and Course Grade: The course grade will be based upon the performance of the student on the midterm exam and the final exam. The weights of the grades received in the midterm and final exams are 0.4 and 0.6 respectively. Properly done homework, project papers and active class participation will be valued in favor of the student.

Passing Course Grades for the courses in the Degree Programs: The curve system which conforms to the European standards is applied only in the undergraduate programs. A letter grade of at least CC is required. A minimum of 50 out of 100 points in the final exam and a minimum course grade of 65 out of 100 points is required in the Master’s Program.

Make-up Exams: No make-ups for the final exams. Make-ups for the midterm exams, if ever allowed by the relevant boards, are of greater difficulty because of the greater time given to the student for preparation.

Overall Course Grade for the Degree Programs: It is the weighed average of the course grades. The local credits of the courses are used as the weights.
